  • 505th CCW supports Navy Large Scale Exercise 21

    Airmen from the 505th Combat Training Squadron and the 505th Communications Squadron, Hurlburt Field, supported Navy Large Scale Exercise 21 – the biggest U.S. Navy exercise in a generation, according to Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Michael Gilday, July 28-Aug. 16.

  • Sword Athena 2021 drives positive change for servicewomen, families

    A coalition of volunteers from across Air Combat Command came together to identify, tackle, and propose solutions to female- and family-centric barriers to readiness during the second annual Sword Athena 2021. The group focused on two key efforts to normalize support for nursing mothers: allowing Bluetooth-enabled breast pumps in secure facilities and compensating ACC civilians for nursing breaks.

  • Tour lengths increase for certain first-term overseas assignments

    Effective March 1, Airmen and Guardians overseas tour lengths are now 36 months for first-term unaccompanied permanent assignments at certain overseas locations.
  • 100th ARW conducts first USAFE KC-135 hot-pit refuel

    “Hot-pit refueling” is another name for an engine-running refuel while the aircraft is grounded. This type of refueling is already performed on airframes such as the CV-22 Osprey, but until September 2020, had never been recorded on checklists or technical orders as having been performed on a KC-135 Stratotanker.
