  • AFPC conducts test of revised Base of Preference program on seven career fields

    Beginning April 2018, the Air Force’s Personnel Center will launch a test on how it delivers information to Airmen for the Base of Preference program. The test will provide increased visibility of available locations to Airmen in seven Air Force Specialty Codes, to start. If the program proves successful, AFPC will expand it.
  • Advance assignment notification enhancement prompts commander, Airmen career discussions

    Commanders will now receive seven-day advance notification of assignments for their Airmen as the Air Force’s Personnel Center takes steps toward a more transparent and interactive assignment system. This change supports Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein’s “Revitalizing Squadrons” effort, ensuring commanders are aware of assignments given to their Airmen.
  • AFPC offers follow-on option to Airmen taking short tours

    Airmen selected for a dependent-restricted short tour for their second or later assignments can voluntarily apply to participate in the Follow-On assignment program, providing them greater flexibility in the assignment process and greater stability for their families.
  • Enlisted attaché duty applications due in November

    Active duty staff sergeants through master sergeants interested in attaché duty can apply for assignment opportunities with international affairs teams around the world, but to be considered, those interested must submit their applications by Nov. 14, Air Force officials announced Oct. 22.
