Nellis AFB is ‘centerpiece’ for Air Force modernization
Warfighters at Nellis Air Force Base are helping the Air Force build a more integrated and lethal force through Advanced Battle Management System development, the Air Force’s network solution to enable rapid decision-making that powers Joint All-Domain Command and Control, or JADC2.
Hanscom AFB team awards long-range radar integration contract with production options
The Theater Battle Control Division, headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, awarded an $8.4 million integration contract to Lockheed Martin Corp. March 26 as part of the Three Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar Rapid Prototyping program.

Robot dogs arrive at Tyndall AFB

Today, 30 years after combat ended on Feb. 28, 1991, Desert Storm’s influence on the United States military, and especially the Air Force and Space Force, remain substantial and entrenched.
2020 Vice Chief’s Challenge winners announced
The challenge, which launched in February 2020, focused on identifying time-consuming tasks that provide the least direct value to generating combat effects; proposing innovative solutions to streamline current processes through the novel application of technology; and partnering directly with Headquarters Air Force to bring Airmen’s voices to ongoing efforts, including solution-generation and beta-testing of cutting-edge technologies that return time to Airmen.

Two years ago, Patrick Pipkins, Air Force Office of Special Investigations special agent, did what his chief of the OSI Cold Case Team called, “some amazing work,” to locate an Air Force deserter who went missing in 1984.
4th CMS hydraulics Airmen design, use apparatus to test stabilator actuators
The F-15E Strike Eagle depends on many parts to maintain operational status. One mission critical part is the stabilator actuator. Without this part, the F-15E cannot fly. The hydraulic actuator, which moves the stabilator of an F-15E, defects collectively for pitch control and differentially to add roll control power to the jet ailerons.
Malmstrom AFB opens Wing1Werx Innovation Lab
The organization responsible for the opening of the Innovation Lab, Wing1Werx, serves as the hub for innovation activity on base. Their overarching goal is improving the daily working lives of Airmen and to serve the mission by improving wing efficiency and lethality.
