    The mission of the Nellis Air Force Base Honor Guard is to represent the Air Force in a variety of ceremonial functions in Southern Nevada, California, Arizona and Utah. They are responsible for rendering military honors for funeral services and various Air Force ceremonies, as well as, provide their services at various opening ceremonies.

    His final journey began with the beat of a drum. The sky was clear. A light breeze was blowing as the hero’s family, friends and well-wishers followed the flag-draped coffin carried by the caisson pulled by six black horses.

    The hearty yell of the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard’s narrator was followed by a wave of cheers through the crowd of Disneyland onlookers, ranging from nostalgic veterans to curious children. The “Ambassadors in Blue” laced these announcements throughout each drill routine during their recent tour of Southern California where they performed at Sea World, Disney’s California Adventure Park, Disneyland and Mission Beach from June 27 to July 1, 2017.

It was the stern reminder used by the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Honor Guard lead trainer, Staff Sgt. David Adolfo, on a particularly warm day at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia known as “The Rock”, when his team hesitated to train outside when the indoor facility they normally use wasn’t available.
