  • Air Force workshop focuses on installation support, environmental stewardship

    More than 400 military members and civilians were on hand at the 2019 Air Force Environmental Workshop to focus on the role of environmental restoration and protection in ensuring installations are mission ready. Hosted by AFCEC’s Environmental Management Directorate, a primary subordinate unit of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, the workshop focused on enabling the Air Force environmental mission of building resilient installations through environmental stewardship.

    The Air Force Civil Engineer Center, which provides environmental remediation support to Air Force headquarters, major commands and installations, reintroduced the annual summits - an eastern, western and central - in 2016. This “state of the installation” presentation will inform the Air Force’s potential partners in industry and elected officials of the condition of Tyndall and the goal to develop an installation for a 21st Century Air Force.

The exercise, conducted at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, with forward deployments to Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, and Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida, served to validate an innovative way to deliver airpower lethality more effectively and efficiently anywhere in the world.
