    Red Flag-Alaska 21-3 concluded at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Aug. 27, strengthening interoperability and showcasing air dominance in the Indo-Pacific region.
  • CMSAF visits Forward Edge of Indo-Pacific

    Since the Accelerate Change or Lose action orders was released, the 36th Wing has created and implemented new standard operating procedures to meet the call by spearheading a training guide for Agile Combat Employment concepts and multi-capable Airmen skill sets.
  • Reserve Airmen participate in exercise Patriot Warrior

    During the exercise, the unit stood up a fully operational base, equipped with mobile hospitals for simulated patients flown in on military aircraft, such as the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft operated by an 815th AS aircrew who took part in the deployment-style exercise to enhance wartime skills.
  • 38 RQS trains to support SpaceX, Boeing

    The 38th RQS Blue Team performed free fall jumps and equipment drops into water to prepare for potential operations supporting the SpaceX human spaceflight program and Boeing’s spaceflight program as well as other immediate response-force operations.
  • Air Force Global Strike Command welcomes new commander

    Gen. Anthony Cotton took command of Air Force Global Strike Command from Gen. Tim Ray, outgoing AFGSC commander, during a ceremony at Barksdale Air Force Base, Aug. 27. Cotton is the newest leader of the U.S. Air Force’s portion of the nuclear enterprise, which maintains the nation's only force of intercontinental ballistic missiles and strategic bombers.

    Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr. was ceremoniously conferred a pin from the French Air and Space Force’s Fighter Squadron 2/4 Lafayette.
  • ‘Baby on board’ – Aircrew deliver Afghan baby on evacuation flight

    While in a holding pattern waiting to land, Capt. Dennis Conner, 701st Airlift Squadron aircraft commander, received a report from loadmaster, Tech Sgt. Leah Schmidt, also 701st AS, that there was a situation on the aircraft’s cargo deck.

  • Behind the scenes of foreign military sales: AFSAC helps international partners overcome airpower supply shortages

    Recently, AFSAC worked with a key international partner nation to clear more than a dozen Not Mission Capable Supply cases which inhibited the foreign partner’s aircraft from performing identified missions. When an NMCS code appears for a country’s weapon system, the weapon system is not capable of performing its assigned missions due to lack of critical parts.

  • Operation Allies Refuge: Ramstein AB transforms into major evac hub

    Following the rapid deterioration of security in Afghanistan, the first of many aircraft carrying U.S. citizens, Special Immigrant Visa applicants and other vulnerable Afghans landed at the installation Aug. 20 as part of Operation Allies Refuge. Since then, Ramstein AB has received more than 11,000 evacuees as they await transportation to their final destination. More than 2,500 people have already departed Ramstein AB for the United States.
  • Mansfield-Lahm ANG Base named preferred location for Cyber Warfare Wing

    The Department of the Air Force announced today that it has identified Ohio’s Mansfield-Lahm Air National Guard Base as the preferred location for a new Cyber Warfare Wing mission. The transformation will support Air Combat Command’s future requirements and result in operational mission changes, including an increase of approximately 175 Airmen and associated infrastructure support.
