New course focuses on sortie production at tactical level
The Advanced Sortie Production Course is the first advanced course specifically focusing on the art and science of sortie production at the tactical level. The new course will take place at the Air Force’s Advanced Maintenance and Munitions Operations School at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.

Eglin Airman selected by Welsh for unique commissioning program
An Airman’s cell phone rings, but he doesn’t answer because for him personal calls can wait until after work. It rings again; he lets it go to voicemail. On the third call he finally answers and is shocked to discover Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh III on the line. During the call, Senior Airman Markese Buckholtz learned he would become an officer through the Senior Leader Enlisted Commissioning Program.

Officer developmental education application window opens Feb. 8
Eligible active-duty officers can apply for intermediate and senior developmental education opportunities beginning in February. Officer nominations, with senior rater endorsements, will be accepted beginning Feb. 8 and are due to the Air Force Personnel Center no later than March 14.
