  • PT test pushed to July, updates to scoring, physical components ahead

    When assessments resume, the three-component fitness test (1.5 mile run, 1 minute of pushups and situps) will be reset with scores calculated on a new three component scoring table. In addition, work is underway to separate scoring into five-year age groups as opposed to the previous ten – for example, age groups will start at <25, 25-29 years old, 30-34, years old, etc.

  • Air Force discusses the future of energy efficiency

    At this year’s Virtual Air Warfare Symposium, the Air Force Association held a panel Feb. 23 with Department of the Air Force senior leaders titled “No Fuel, No Fight: The Future of Warfighting Energy Requirements.” The purpose of the panel was to discuss the inherent vulnerabilities fuel and energy present to troops, and plans to mitigate associated risks, streamline operations, and decrease carbon release as part of the Secretary of Defense’s climate change policy.
  • ADLS training transitions to “myLearning” in first step for new force development LMS

    The AETC Learning Services division is launching the new secure learning management system that will enable student learning, automation and reporting for roughly 800,000 Total Force users in three phases, with the first phase consisting of a modernized and interactive training platform that allows Airmen to access training modules previously found on the Advanced Distributed Learning Service.
