Members of the Air Force women's gymnastics team concluded competition at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships April 19 here.

Competing in the all-around, senior Sashonna Iwaniec and sophomore Abigail Rogers fell just shy of advancing out of their respective sessions, as they each placed sixth in a meet where the top five advance.

Iwaniec competed in the afternoon session, scoring a 37.900 to take sixth in the all-around. Contributing to that score was a 10th-place finish on the balance beam, as Iwaniec tied with classmate Christine Powers, an individual event specialist, with matching scores of 9.575. Iwaniec also posted a 9.450 on the uneven bars (15th), 9.525 on the vault (21st) and 9.350 on the floor exercise (22nd).

In the day's second session, Rogers amassed a score of 36.750 to take sixth in the all-around. Her best placement of the night came from an eighth-place finish on the vault behind a score of 9.650. Rogers also placed 22nd on the uneven bars (9.175), 27th on the balance beam (8.900) and 25th on the floor exercise (9.025).

In addition, junior Kelly Lewis finished 17th on the vault with a score of 9.550, while freshman Kayla Kincade took 26th on the balance beam (9.025).
