  • Academy co-hosts discussion to combat sexual assault, harassment

    More than 230 military, college and university senior leaders attended the virtual National Discussion on Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment at America’s Colleges, Universities and Service Academies, which included keynote and breakout sessions along with panel discussions, allowing them to develop partnerships and share best practices in sexual assault prevention.
  • Civil Air Patrol continues auxiliary efforts for the Total Force

    The inclusion of the Civil Air Patrol allows for approximately 59,000 volunteers to support non-combat related Air Force missions within the United States. They also act as ambassadors to the Air Force to communities that may not have consistent military exposure.

    Senior Master Sgt. Jessica Player, Mathies Noncommissioned Officer Academy director of education, began contemplating her purpose after losing her family member. Growing up in the small town of Greensboro, Alabama, separation and racism was no rarity to Player. After reminiscing of her days as the homecoming court in high school, Player didn’t identify as just the queen, but as the queen of color.
  • CMSAF joins 300-plus Airmen in EPME virtual-training discussion

    Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force JoAnne S. Bass joined a teleconference with more than 300 Airmen enrolled virtually in the Noncommissioned Officer Academy and Airman Leadership School with instructors at the Lankford Enlisted Professional Military Education Center in East Tennessee.

    The Airman leadership qualities are expected to form the basis for the future officer and enlisted performance reporting systems.   • Squadron Officer School new curriculum challenges students to ‘know themselves’ first

    The new “LEAD to Prevail” curriculum begins with Leadership Experiences and Attribute Development. As the first of three phases, it uses students’ introspective discovery of who they are as individuals and as leaders as the foundation for the rest of the course.
