  • FY21 voluntary force management programs conclude May 27

    The Department of the Air Force will conclude fiscal year 2021 voluntary officer and enlisted force management programs May 27.
  • DAF to allow officers to opt out of promotion in certain circumstances

    Eligible officers, who meet certain conditions, may soon request exclusion from consideration for the next higher grade. The new policy will go into effect beginning with the major, lieutenant colonel and colonel Space Force promotion boards set to convene Oct. 16, and will provide more flexible talent management options.

  • Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey helps civilians voice their opinions

    The FEVS is a government-wide, Office of Personnel Management administered annual survey that Air Force civilian employees have been participating in since 2006. The approximately 100-question survey takes 20-to-30 minutes to complete and is anonymous. The survey includes questions about employees’ work-life, job and organizational satisfaction, commitment, engagement, performance management and communication. It measures employee perceptions of whether their organization is successful.

    The Pathway to Wings brief, hosted by AFRS Detachment 1, will give participants an overview of Air Force aviation careers, as well information about the different types of service, missions, aircraft and military lifestyle. Current Air Force aviators will be on the call to answer questions.

  • AF expands Career Intermission Program opportunities

    The Air Force has changed the Career Intermission Program to expand participation opportunities for Airmen from one application window each year to three. In addition, Airmen with humanitarian circumstances may submit out-of-cycle CIP applications, as can dual-military married Airmen when a join spouse assignment cannot be supported, provided they meet CIP eligibility criteria. If desired, the Air Force Personnel Center will expedite the CIP application.
